Dan Schommer – President Dan graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1973 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with specialization in Accounting. He has thirty-five years of public accounting experience, as an employee of another CPA firm, and in his association with Watkins & Schommer, Inc. He has gained experience in the areas of office and accounting management, tax preparation, tax planning, governmental audits and system design and implementation. Dan is a certified public accountant and member of both the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
Randy Watkins – Vice President
Randy is a native of Colorado, growing up in Greeley, Colorado. Randy graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1999 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. He has nearly a decade of experience, working in a large international firm and a large local firm in Denver, Colorado. Randy specializes in audits of privately held and publicly traded companies in the following industries: computer software development and technology, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and distribution, non-profit, real-estate, and hospitality. He also has experience with consulting and compliance engagements in accordance with Sarbanes-Oxley section 404. Randy takes a special interest in utilizing these skills to identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies and internal controls over financial reporting and accounting.
Randy is a member of the Colorado Society of Certified Public Accountants, serving as the President of the Northern Chapter Board of Directors, and participating in the Transitions Committee and Governmental Issues Forum. He is also the Treasurer of the University of Northern Colorado Alumni Association Board of Directors, and chairman of the Accounting Academic Advisory Board to the Monfort College of Business at UNC. Additionally, Randy Treasurer of the Board of Directors for the Northern Colorado Active 20/30 Children’s Foundation, and a member of the Executive Committee of the AICPA Governmental Audit Quality Center.
Lee Watkins - Retired
Lee graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 1968 with a B.S. degree in business with specialization in accounting. Upon graduation he served in the military service for two years (including 11 months in Vietnam) and was employed in private accounting for eighteen months. He has thirty-eight years of public accounting experience as an employee of other CPA firms and in his association with Watkins & Schommer, Inc. He has gained experience in the areas of office and accounting management, tax preparation, tax planning, commercial and governmental audits, systems design and implementation, and staff training.
Lee is 62 years old with two children. Lee now spends a large majority of his time enjoying retirement at his vacation home on Pine Island, off the coast of Fort Myers, Florida.

Amanda Castle - Senior Associate
Amanda grew up in Casper, Wyoming and moved to Greeley in 2003. She graduated from the University of Northern Colorado in 2007 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting. Amanda began her accounting career as an intern for a large local firm in Northern Colorado in 2006 and began working full time as an auditor upon her graduation in 2007. Amanda is experienced in audits of privately held companies in the following industries: manufacturing and distribution, non-profit and hospitality. Amanda enjoys working with a wide variety of people, and is actively seeking her Certified Public Accounting license.
Amanda is a member of the international fraternity of Delta Sigma Pi, a professional business fraternity. She is living in Greeley, Colorado with her husband Jason.
